Adjusting O-ring
1. Locate the O-ring
Find the O-ring: Check the groove on the inside of the lid. It sits loosely but blends in seamlessly with the surrounding material, making it tricky to spot. Rest assured, it is definitely there, so please take a closer look if you don't see it at first glance.
Remove the O-ring: Press the tip of a screwdriver or knife down into the O-ring and gently pry it upward to pop it out of the groove.
2. Clean, Lubricate, and Reinstall
Clean: Remove the O-ring from the lid and wash it thoroughly with hot water.
Reinstall: Carefully press the O-ring back into its dedicated groove.
Test the seal: Open and close the lid firmly three times to ensure the O-ring is seated properly, then inflate the product to test it.
Lubricate (if needed): If the seal is still not airtight after inflating, remove the O-ring and apply a very thin layer of petroleum jelly or neutral grease. Reinstall it and test again.
3. Adjust the secondary seal
If the product is still not airtight, try adjusting the secondary seal. Depending on your product's current setup, choose one of the following:
- Remove the secondary seal: If a secondary O-ring is already installed on the cylinder threads, try removing it and testing the airtightness. Under most conditions, the product performs better using only the primary sealing ring.
- Install the secondary seal: If there is no secondary O-ring installed, you can choose to add one to the cylinder threads (see image for the correct placement).
- Please note: To keep our products as user-friendly as possible, they are normally delivered with only the primary seal installed. The secondary O-ring is included strictly as a backup.
